Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust distributed scholarships to students at Modi College

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a special function to distribute scholarships to deserving students of the college by Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust. Dr. S.P.S. Oberoi, Managing Trustee, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust graced the function as Chief Guest. Mrs. Inderjeet Kaur Gill, Director Education, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust and Dr. Atwal were also present on the occasion as special guests. The college Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest and other guests and said that the trust has been providing financial aid to sincere and deserving students for the last 10 years. He said the contribution of ‘Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust’ to social welfare is appreciable, and the way Dr. Oberoi has successfully reached the disadvantaged sections of the society particularly in the fields of health and education, is commendable. Mrs. Inderjeet Gill briefly discussed the various activities and schemes initiated by the ‘Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust’ for the welfare of underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean, Students Welfare said that ‘Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust’ has been providing 10,000 INR of scholarship to the deserving students of Modi College every year for the last 10 years. The Trust has so far provided 70,57000 INR as financial aid to the students of Modi College. Dr. S P S Oberoi confirmed the continuation of the scholarship scheme in the future as well. It is worth mentioning that this scheme was initiated in 2014 when Dr. Khushvinder Kumar joined as the Principal of the college, and this function was the last programme during his tenure.
The Registrar of the college Dr. Ashwani Sharma proposed a vote of thanks. All the students and staff members were present on the occasion.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਜ਼ੀਫੇ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਟਰਸਟ ਦੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਿੰਗ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਡਾ. ਐਸ.ਪੀ.ਸਿੰਘ ਉਬਰਾਏ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਗਿੱਲ, ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਟਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਸ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਣਹਾਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਮਦਦ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਟਰੱਸਟ’ ਦਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਮੁੱਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਓੁਬਰਾਏ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਵੰਚਿਤ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਹੈ। ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ-ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਆਰੰਭੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵੇਰਵਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ‘ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਚੈਰੀਟੇਬਲ ਟਰੱਸਟ’ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ 10 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ 100 ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 10,000/- ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵਜ਼ੀਫ਼ਾ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਟਰਸਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 70,57000/- ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਮਦਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਕੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਡਾ. ਐਸ.ਪੀ.ਸਿੰਘ ਓਬਰਾਏ ਜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਾਮੀ ਭਰੀ ਗਈ। ਇਥੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਕੀਮ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ 2014 ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਜੁਆਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਓਬਰਾਏ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਲੜੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਰਮ ਦਾ ਆਖਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
